Half Marathons and the Super 8

April 30, 2019April 30, 2019 stephstanesic

Vegas has ruined me. I realized this as I was sitting on the bed of the Super 8, trying to figure out if we needed to switch rooms because the A/C wasn't working. There was a hole in the wall opposite me, whoever painted the place was either blind or a toddler and I had… Continue reading Half Marathons and the Super 8

Burn piles and Strong struggles

April 12, 2019 stephstanesic

We've lived in our house for about 2 1/2 years now. When we bought this little plot of land we inherited a massive "burn pile". You city folk are like, "What does that even mean?!" Allow me to explain... We live outside city limits. Which means no one gets to tell US what to do!… Continue reading Burn piles and Strong struggles

Messy cars and OJ’s glove

March 20, 2019March 20, 2019 stephstanesic

I feel like the following post should have a warning... VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED. Or something of that nature. Because if you are a cleanly, organized person (or even someone with a normal amount of self respect) you will 100% have a minor stroke when you see the pictures I'm going to post of my car.… Continue reading Messy cars and OJ’s glove

anxiety and stuff

March 5, 2019 stephstanesic

You’d think that I would have learned, but I haven’t. I allowed anxiety to creep back into my thoughts and I convinced myself that I have nothing to add or bring to the table. I convinced myself that I have no business being vocal or vulnerable or any of it. About life, and marriage and… Continue reading anxiety and stuff

ride and wine

January 24, 2019January 24, 2019 stephstanesic

Here for the ride… and the wine! This is my quote for 2019. I toyed around with several different words, all of which were pretty awesome, but I landed on this phrase after some new and exciting opportunities came my way at the beginning of January. I have no idea what 2019 is bringing but….… Continue reading ride and wine

Chip told me when we got married that he never wanted me to go to bed without laughing. He has followed through on making that happen for 8 years now. Love you boo. Thanks for making laughter, forgiveness, kindness and joy priorities in our home. Happy Anniversary 😍💕
Shoot. Bottle feeding the runt, and already deciding on how to litter box train. How did I become an indoor pig mom? Things continue to go downhill around here. 💕
He is a self proclaimed “cat guy”. ☺️🐈 Frank has been singing to Marie for like a half hour.... 😍💙
Who says you can’t go out for ice cream in 20 degree weather 🙌🏼
If you know me even a little, you know I struggle with seasonal depression around this time of year. 14 years ago today was a nightmare. Tommy was a blessing and so healing in my life. I want to remember him today by just saying this: If you’re going through grief, just remember it’s HARD. It doesn’t make sense and give yourself a whole lot grace (and therapy if you’re like me and you need it). Loss of loved ones is tough stuff. The pain may lessen, but the hurt never completely goes away. I dealt with Tommy’s death by turning toward addiction and bad habits. It took me years to get healthy. Christ is the great Healer and loves to redeem. 💗 if you’re hurting today, you are not alone. Reach out. Get help. You’ll be happy you did. 💙
I asked my family the other day if they wanted to practice Lent with me this year, since I’m going to do it (for the first time ever) and give up wine. Bob and Chip politely declined 😂 but Frank told me he would think about it.... He just now said to me, “remember how you’re giving up wine for 40 years (which I promptly corrected to DAYS. DAYS, child.) so you can think about God and Jesus? I’ve decided to give up milk. So we can do it together and think about them together.” 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😭😭😭😭😭😍😍😍😍😍😍 sweet boy. 💙
